What's the Gospel?
Gospel means “Good News.” A gospel presents the Good News that Jesus Christ has made salvation available to all people. Christians are commanded by Jesus to preach this gospel (Matthew 28:19):
Jesus existed as God from all eternity and created all things (John 1:1-3, Hebrews 1:2-3, Colossians 1:15-16).
Jesus became a man (John 1:14), conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Luke 1:26-38).
Jesus was without sin (2 Corinthians 5:21)
He came to save the world (John 3:16-17)...to save the world (us) from sin (Luke 19:10). Long ago sin entered the world through the first man, Adam (Genesis 3) and now all of mankind is tainted by sin (Romans 3:10-12, 23).
The penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23).
Jesus willingly offered himself to die as payment for our sins
(John 10:11, 2 Corinthians 5:15).
He was crucified on a cross (Luke 23:26-49)…for our behalf
He died and was buried (Mark 15:42-47) but he defeated death and rose three days later (John 20). Hundreds of eyewitnesses saw the resurrected Christ (1 Corinthians 15:3-8).
Afterward, he ascended to heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father and will return someday (Matthew 26:64).
Jesus is the only one who can save mankind from their sin
Repent from whatever you are trusting in and put your trust (faith) completely in Jesus (Mark 1:15).
Whomever confesses this and believes will be saved
